Create dashboards
When you have created several reports, combine them into an eazyBI dashboard. A dashboard shows the key reports about a business area on one page, giving a quick overview of the current status and key performance indicators.
A dashboard is also the unit for sharing: embed it in a web page with an iframe, show it on a big screen as a wallboard, or send it by email. First, create the dashboard, and then share it as you see fit.

Create a new dashboard
In the Dashboards tab, choose Create a new dashboard or New. Enter the dashboard name [1] and add reports [2]. You can add a dashboard description [3] to describe the reports or add a logo. Click save changes [4].
A new dashboard is added as the last one; drag it by name to reorder (see also Arrange dashboards in folders).
Dashboard description
In the dashboard description editor, you can use plain text, markdown, or HTML formatting to add additional information about the dashboard. You can adjust how the description looks on the dashboard:
- Click the background color icon [5] to select a description background from theme colors. Theme colors automatically adapt when users switch between the light and dark theme. By default, the description has no background color.
- Select the Collapsed checkbox [6] to show the description collapsed when the dashboard is opened. Users can expand and collapse the description with the collapse icon at the left edge of the description.
Options to change the description background and collapsed state are only available on Cloud.
Click Apply to close the editor, and then save changes in the dashboard.
Multiple instances of the same report
You can add several reports to the dashboard. You can add multiple instances of the same report on the same dashboard; useful for seeing it with different filter selections side by side.
In the add reports dialog, click the report names to add them to the dashboard; already added reports are highlighted, with a count if a report is added more than once. Added reports can be removed later when arranging reports.

Arrange reports
You can adjust the placement of reports by dragging and dropping them. By default, reports are aligned to the left and placed next to each other when their widths allow it.
Switch a report to the dashboard's left or right side [1], which is useful for narrow or long reports, and change the report's relative width [2].
Open the report more actions menu (⋯) [3] for more report layout options:
- Page break – insert a page break before the report in the PDF export (if Export to PDF is enabled).
- Border – show or hide the report border.
- Header – show or hide the report header. A report with a hidden header is always expanded, and its action icons appear on hover.
Click the trash icon [4] to remove a report from the dashboard.
Collapse individual reports or all reports [5] to save space; this is handy for table reports with a long or changing row count and for resource-intensive, rarely used reports. Rearranging is easiest with all reports collapsed (Collapse all); expand them afterward for final adjustments.
Change the height of the report
By default, eazyBI automatically calculates the report height. To set a fixed report height, drag the grip at the bottom edge of the report [6] while editing the dashboard. If several reports share a row, give them the same height so they stay aligned when the browser window size changes. Click Reset height [7] to return to the automatic height. Save changes [8] when you are done.
Arrange dashboards
To reorder dashboards, press Edit, drag a dashboard by its name tab to a new position, and save changes.
Arrange dashboards in folders
Dashboards share folders with reports; you can manage dashboard folders (create new, rename, or delete them) from the Analyze tab.
A new dashboard is created in the currently opened folder [1], and that folder's reports are offered first when adding reports, but you can add reports from other folders as well. To move a dashboard, open it in edit [2] mode, click Move to [3], and select the destination folder.
Page filters for dashboard
If several reports use the same dimension as a page filter [1] (for example, Time or Product), you can add it to a dashboard filter: open the dashboard in edit mode, expand the reports, click the page dimension, and choose common page [2]. The dimension appears at the top of the dashboard [3] and filters all reports that use it.
See the feature used for the Customer dimension where value USA is selected as a common page filter for all dashboard reports.
With several common page dimensions, the Nonempty option [4] limits the drop-down lists. The order matters as the selection in a dimension limits the value list of the dimensions to its right [5]. Enable Hide common dimensions [6] to remove the dimension from dashboard reports [7], as it is now filtered by the common page filter.
When you save the dashboard, the current common page selections are saved with it and override the default page selections of the included reports; non-common report pages keep their report defaults. After saving, selecting a dashboard page member refreshes all reports with this page dimension.
Interact with reports on a dashboard
Hover over a report to reveal the action icons in the report header:
Pause on the clock icon to see when the last successful or failed import updated the report's data.
Click the table icon to show a chart as a table temporarily; the chart view is restored when you reload the dashboard.
Click the export icon to download the report results, for example, as an Excel, CSV, PNG, or PDF file. The icon is available if results export is enabled for you.
Share dashboards and toolbar buttons
From the toolbar, you can create a new dashboard [1], edit the currently opened dashboard [2], or open another existing dashboard [3]. You can subscribe to receive the dashboard by email as a scheduled PDF attachment [4], and apply data access roles [5] to limit who can access the dashboard.
You can export a dashboard to PDF [6]. On eazyBI for Jira Data Center, Private eazyBI, and eazyBI for Confluence, this option requires Google Chrome on the eazyBI server; if you do not see it, ask your administrator (for Private eazyBI, see the installation guide on how to set up and export to PDF).
Additional dashboard actions are available in the More actions menu [7]:
- Embed the dashboard in another application or a web page.
- Copy a direct dashboard link.
- Share the dashboard in the JSM customer portal with JSM portal options (if JSM sharing is enabled).
- Customize a PDF layout for downloads and email subscriptions.
- Export or import dashboard definitions, or export definitions of all dashboards.
Copy dashboard link
Copy the dashboard link available on eazyBI for Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud.
For other eazyBI product versions, you can copy the link from the browser address bar.
Share the dashboard with colleagues by sending them a direct link: select Copy dashboard link in the More actions menu (⋯) and copy the provided link.
This is the secure way to share the link because only authorized users who have access to this dashboard will be able to open it.
PDF options
PDF options available on Cloud and since eazyBI version 9.0.
eazyBI automatically determines the best fit when exporting a dashboard to PDF. When the default rendering is not satisfactory, you can override the defaults (for example, if the dashboard contains a wide table).
Open the dashboard to configure PDF options or email customization for it. Click the More actions (the three-dot menu) on the dashboard toolbar, then select PDF options. This option is available to users who can edit the dashboard and save the changes.
The PDF options let you control the page format, orientation, and margins used when exporting a dashboard to PDF or sending it as an email subscription attachment. Settings are saved per dashboard.
Export and import dashboard definitions
If you have several eazyBI accounts or several eazyBI environments (development, test, production), then you can export dashboard definition from one eazyBI account and import it into another.
Exported dashboard definition includes all report and calculated member definitions used and needed for this dashboard, the report layout in the dashboard, and common page filters, but does not include the data (results).
On the dashboard header toolbar, click on the Export definition [1] to copy the layout of a currently selected dashboard or Export definitions of all dashboards [2] to copy all visible dashboards from the current eazyBI account.
You will see the dashboard definition in JSON format, please copy this definition and paste it into the other eazyBI environment.
Now you can visit the other eazyBI account where you would like to import one or several exported dashboards and choose the option Import definition.
In Import dashboard definition dialog paste previously copied one or all dashboard definitions and click OK.
When the definition import is completed, you can see and use the imported dashboards in the new eazyBI account.
