History of issue statuses

This example will demonstrate how to see issue status changes in past time periods. To be able to create such reports, please make sure you have selected Import issues change history in Source data import options.

To build this report first add Transition Status dimension to Columns. This dimension displays all transition statuses. To eliminate statuses that are not used (there are no issues in this status in past), select Hide empty columns.

In front of Transition Status dimension add Measures dimension and select Calculated measure Issues history. This Measure counts how many issues are in each status at the end of each time period.

We also added Resolution dimension with resolution "(unresolved)" selected on Pages to filter out only open issues.

Use Time dimension in Rows. In above example report is displayed as Timeline chart, but issue changes in time can be seen as well when choosing to view this report in table or any other chart view. Configure Time dimension as is more comfortable, e.g. Weekly to see how many issues were in each state at end of each week.

To make the report easier to read add filter to Time dimension. You can do it by clicking on any time measure in the chart and going to Filter option. For more information please view Date filters description.

Make sure Pages are configured as well. To get report about

  • specific project, add Project dimension in Pages and select members you would like to see. 
  • specific issue types, e.g. "Bugs", add Issue Type dimension in Pages. You can select to display All hierarchy level members for Issue Type and then filter your report according to issue type you are interested in.
  • specific fix version, add Fix Version dimension in Pages.

If you use eazybi.com hosted service then your Jira version should be 5.2.7 or later. Earlier versions did not support issue change log.
