Account users
On this page:
Jira users who have Jira Administrators global permission, Jira trusted users and eazyBI admin can create new eazyBI accounts. The user who creates the eazyBI account is the Owner of the account. The owner has all rights to this account and also can add additional users. You can access the Account users page either from the Home tab or from the top right navigation bar:
Add account users
You can add access to the eazyBI account to:
- individual users,
- Jira user groups
- or Jira Service management organization. Organizations may have only Viewer or Dashboard viewer roles to access reports on the JSM Portal.
Start typing the user name or group name and select from the auto-completion list [1].
eazyBI does not use the same user permission schema as Jira. All eazyBI users who have access to the account generally can access all imported information in that account, regardless of whether they have access to these data in Jira or not. Please see more details about eazyBI account management on the Jira Data model documentation page.
For each user, assign a role to grant the necessary access to eazyBI functionality [2]. Additionally, on eazyBI for Jira Cloud and Data Center, you can allow users with Report admin or User roles to start data import [3]. This option allows them to access the Source Data section and click on Import to initiate incremental data import, but they won't be able to edit import optiosn or perform other activities available for users with higher roles. Add eazyBI advanced settings to enable the "Can start data import" option.
Incremental data import option for the Report admin and the User roles available on Cloud, and since eazyBI version 8.2.
User roles
When you add new users or groups to the account you need to specify their role:
- Owner can manage users, import source data, define common calculated members and measures, and create, update, and delete any reports and dashboards. The owner is the main contact person for this account. There is only one Owner for each account, and this role can be assigned to another account user.
- User admin can manage users, import source data, define common calculated members and measures, and create, update, and delete any reports and dashboards.
- Data admin can import source data, define common calculated members and measures, and create, update, and delete any reports and dashboards.
- Reports admin can define common calculated members and measures, and create, update, and delete any reports and dashboards.
- User can create, update, and delete their own reports and view any reports and dashboard pages. This user role can save new report-specific calculated measures in their reports but can not define common calculated members.
- Viewer can make new reports but can't save a report for repeated usage. The viewer can view existing reports and dashboard pages.
- Dashboards viewer can only view dashboard pages, eazyBI gadgets on Jira dashboards, or embedded report and dashboard iframes.
A user with any role can access all cubes, dimensions, and measures in the corresponding account. If you need to limit access to reports, dashboards, cubes, and dimensions in a specific account, then use data access roles.
When using eazyBI for Jira Data Center, then Jira System Administrators and eazyBI admins have access to all eazyBI accounts with User admin rights.
When using eazyBI for Jira Cloud, then Jira Organization, Product admins and eazyBI admins have access to all eazyBI accounts with User admin rights for the corresponding Jira Cloud site (as in Jira Cloud customers do not have Jira System Administrator rights).
